New: product validation, competitor price monitoring and Brazil pricing tools

Nolyn EditorialPublished

From October 19 to 22, 2026 we shipped the biggest batch of Nolyn tools so far:

  • ten new research tools that run on live Amazon, TikTok, Instagram and YouTube data;
  • seven free calculators for sellers in Brazil and the US;
  • a posting-time study with downloadable data.

Every tool page shows a real run with its date, and every figure in this post comes from one of those runs.

Amazon research tools

Product validation

Product validation gives a go, caution or no-go verdict for a product idea. It reads the Amazon search results, the top-10 price band, ratings counts, Amazon's "bought in past month" labels and the complaints in the best sellers' top reviews, then checks recent TikTok videos.

Example, October 19, 2026, "dog paw cleaner" on Amazon.com:

  • The top 10 listings had a median of 2,193 ratings and a median price of $13.47 ($6.01–$36.99).
  • Dexas MudBuster held three of the ten spots.
  • The best monthly label was 3K+.
  • 5 of 24 top reviews said you still need a towel to dry the paws.
  • Verdict: CAUTION: real demand, but the head is held by one brand. The run cost about 27 credits and took 1–2 minutes.

It does not estimate sales. It uses only what Amazon and TikTok show.

Competitor price monitoring

Competitor price monitoring puts today's prices of the top 8 competitors in one table: current and list price, limited-time deals, coupons, price per unit, rating and monthly bought labels, plus a pricing suggestion.

Example, October 19, 2026, "creatine gummies" on Amazon.com:

  • Prices ran from $8.54 to $49.98, median $22.99.
  • 3 of 8 listings were on a limited-time deal 10–18% below list.
  • The premium brand charged $0.56 a gummy against $0.18–$0.19 for the 120-count value listings, and still showed 10K+ bought a month.

It's a snapshot, not a price history. Ask Nolyn to repeat it as a weekly scheduled task to catch changes.

Product description generator

The product description generator reads the five best-placed competitor listings and the reviews of the three strongest before writing. It then writes an Amazon title within 200 characters, five bullets and a 150–250 word description. Every selling point names the competitor gap or complaint it answers, and claims you must check are flagged.

Example, October 21, 2026, a 20 oz dog water bottle against "dog water bottle":

  • The five competitors had 61,125 ratings and 563 negative leak mentions, so the lock leads the bullets.
  • The title came out at 194 characters, and 6 claims were flagged to verify.

Creator and content research

  • YouTube channel finder: finds channels in a niche and subscriber range, ranked by the median views of their last 10 videos, not by subscribers. For "home espresso" (10K–500K subscribers), 10 channels came back but only 2 were active independent creators. Two others with 207K and 127K subscribers hadn't uploaded in 2–3 years.
  • YouTube Shorts analytics: Shorts-only figures for any channel: rhythm, median views, views per 1,000 subscribers and results by format. For @gymshark, the median Short got 21,710 views (29.9 per 1,000 subscribers), and the latest Short was from July 22, 2025.
  • TikTok comment exporter: up to 100 top-level comments of one video, searchable in every language, as a table and CSV. On an @indigopetco video, "carpet" matched 16 of 81 comments in English, Spanish, Russian and Arabic. An English-only search would have found 2.
  • YouTube comment exporter: the same for YouTube. On a robot vacuum buying guide, 23 of 65 viewer comments asked which robot to buy.
  • Instagram comment exporter: the same for an Instagram post. On a Glossier lip balm launch, 15 of the 20 comments read were about the product's name, and they held 95% of the comment likes.
  • Instagram competitor analysis: your account against two or three competitors on the same rules. On October 22, 2026, Owala's median post reached 0.47% of followers against 0.11% for YETI and 0.073% for Hydro Flask, while all three got 2.1–2.3% engagement per Reel play.

Free pricing tools for Brazil (and one for the US)

These run in your browser, need no account, and use the marketplaces' official fee tables, re-read on the date each page shows. They are in Portuguese.

  • Calculadora Shopee: the commission table in force since October 1, 2026. A R$59.90 item pays R$16.48 and nets R$43.42 for a CNPJ seller.
  • Calculadora Mercado Livre: Clássico and Premium fees by category, and the free-shipping share from R$79.
  • Calculadora de comissão: four marketplaces side by side. On a R$59.90 item:
    • Shopee R$16.48
    • TikTok Shop R$9.59
    • Amazon R$8.99
    • Mercado Livre Clássico at 14%: R$8.39
  • Calculadora TikTok Shop: 10% + R$4 below R$50, 6% + R$6 from R$50, plus the Shipping Fee Program's 6% (capped at R$50).
  • Calculadora de markup: price from cost and markup, markup ↔ margin, and the markup divisor. Example: R$40 cost, 25% expenses and 15% margin give a R$66.67 price.
  • Quanto ganha um youtuber: YouTube earnings from views and the RPM range Brazilian sources cite.
  • TikTok Shop fee calculator (US): the 6% referral fee on what the buyer pays, plus creator commission. A $27 item with $5 shipping and a 15% creator pays $1.92 + $4.05.

Under each result, one click turns the figures into a research task: for example, checking the price band of competing listings at the price you just calculated.

The data tool Precificação de produtos goes one step further: it calculates the price that covers cost, fees and margin, then compares it with live competitor prices. In an October 22, 2026 run, a thermal bottle costing R$28 needed R$54.17 on Shopee for a 20% margin, while the median of 39 matching bottles on Amazon.com.br was R$39.99.

Limits

  • No sales estimates. Amazon figures are what Amazon shows (ratings, monthly bought labels, prices). TikTok Shop product search covers the US only.
  • Price monitoring is a snapshot. It has no price history; repeat it on a schedule.
  • Comment exporters read one video or post per run, up to 100 top-level comments. They are not account scrapers.
  • Calculators are as current as the fee pages they cite. Each one shows the date we last checked the official rules.
  • Reports can be wrong. Each tool page lists the corrections we made to its sample report, so you can see the kind of mistakes to check for.

All tools are listed at nolyn.ai/tools. The data tools run after a free sign-up (100 credits, no card). A run of the data tools above costs about 15–60 credits.

Frequently asked questions

Are the calculators really free?

Yes. The calculators run in your browser, need no account and don't send what you type anywhere. The data tools (product validation, price monitoring, channel finder and the others) need a free sign-up and use credits.

Does product validation estimate how many units a product sells?

No. It uses what Amazon shows publicly: ratings counts, the "bought in past month" label, prices and reviews, plus recent TikTok videos. It does not model sales, so it gives a verdict with the evidence rather than a revenue number.

Can Nolyn track competitor prices over time?

Each run is a dated snapshot of the top competitors. To track changes, ask Nolyn to repeat the run as a weekly scheduled task and compare the tables.

Which marketplaces do the Brazil calculators cover?

Shopee, Mercado Livre, TikTok Shop Brasil and Amazon.com.br, with fee rules checked on each marketplace's official pages in October 2026.
