Later alternatives in 2026: schedulers, analytics and influencer tools compared

· Nolyn research team

Later is three products in one: a visual scheduler for Instagram, TikTok and six other networks, an analytics dashboard for the accounts you connect, and, since buying Mavely in January 2025, an influencer and affiliate business sold through strategy calls. Most people searching for an alternative want to replace one of those parts, usually because of price per social set, the 30-posts-per-profile cap on Starter, or the end of X support in August 2025. We checked Later and every alternative below on its own pricing page on 2026-10-22. Prices are in US dollars, before tax.

What is the best alternative to Later?

It depends on which part of Later you are replacing. For scheduling, Buffer has a free plan for 3 channels and paid plans from $5 per channel a month, and Planoly is the closest like-for-like visual planner from $14 a month; Metricool adds ads and competitor analytics from $20 a month billed yearly (all checked on 2026-10-22). For analysing other accounts or finding micro-influencers without a platform contract, Nolyn is a pay-per-task option, but it does not schedule posts.

How we chose

  • Each option replaces at least one of Later's three jobs: scheduling, analytics, or finding and managing influencers. We say which one.
  • Prices, free plans, trials and networks come from the vendor's own pricing page on 2026-10-22, with the billing period. Where a page only shows yearly-billed prices, we say so.
  • We left out tools whose main job is something else, and we did not test paid plans; descriptions are based on each vendor's public pages.
  • Nolyn is one of the options, but only for analytics on public accounts and influencer discovery. It does not publish or schedule posts, and we say that where it matters.

The Later alternatives, one by one

1. Buffer

Best for: solo creators and small brands that want the cheapest reliable schedulerPrice: Free for 3 channels; Essentials $5 and Team $10 per channel a month (checked 2026-10-22)

Buffer prices per connected channel instead of per social set, so a creator with Instagram, TikTok and YouTube pays $15 a month on Essentials. The free plan covers 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each, 1 user and 30 days of insights, and it includes a link-in-bio Start Page. Paid plans remove the post limit (Buffer applies a fair-use cap of 5,000), keep insights history and add first-comment scheduling and reports; Team adds unlimited users and approvals. It supports the widest list of networks here, including X, Bluesky, Mastodon, Threads and Google Business Profile, which matters if you left Later when it dropped X.

Pros

  • Real free plan
  • Per-channel pricing is cheap for 2–5 accounts
  • Supports X, Bluesky and Mastodon

Cons

  • Analytics are lighter than Later's on Growth and Scale
  • Per-channel pricing adds up past about 15 channels
  • No influencer tools

2. Planoly

Best for: Instagram and Pinterest planners who want Later's visual grid for lessPrice: Starter $14/mo, Growth $24/mo, Pro $47/mo (checked 2026-10-22); annual prices not shown

Planoly is the closest like-for-like replacement: a drag-and-drop visual planner built around the Instagram grid, with link in bio on every plan. Starter covers 1 social set and 1 user, Growth 2 sets and 2 users, Pro 6 sets and 6 users, and every plan has unlimited uploads. It also lets creators sell digital products and run Instagram DM automations from the same account. It schedules to Instagram, Facebook, X, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and TikTok. The free plan exists only in the mobile app, with 10 uploads a month.

Pros

  • Cheaper than Later at each tier
  • Unlimited uploads on every plan
  • Link in bio and digital product sales built in

Cons

  • Analytics are basic
  • Annual pricing is not published
  • Free plan only on mobile

3. Metricool

Best for: small teams that want scheduling and deeper analytics, including ads, in one toolPrice: Free for 1 brand; Starter $20/mo billed yearly or $25 monthly for 5 brands; Advanced from $53/mo yearly (checked 2026-10-22)

Metricool is the alternative to pick if Later's analytics were the reason you paid for it. The free plan covers 1 brand with 20 posts a month, 5 competitors and 30 days of analytics. Starter gives 5 brands with unlimited posts, 100 tracked competitors, unlimited analytics history and PDF reports; Advanced adds team roles, approvals, a Looker Studio connector and an API. It reads Facebook Ads, Google Ads and TikTok Ads alongside organic accounts, which Later only does for Meta ads on Scale. LinkedIn starts on Starter, and X is a paid add-on.

Pros

  • Forever-free plan
  • Unlimited analytics history from Starter
  • Competitor tracking and ads reporting

Cons

  • X costs extra
  • No LinkedIn on the free plan
  • The interface is dense for one-person accounts

4. Vista Social

Best for: agencies and multi-location brands that also manage reviews and DMsPrice: Professional $99/mo ($950/yr), Advanced $199/mo, Scale $449/mo (checked 2026-10-22)

Vista Social combines scheduling, a social inbox, review management and DM automations, and it covers more networks than any other tool here: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Business, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest, Snapchat, Tumblr, Threads, Bluesky and X (X is a $29 a month add-on). Professional includes 15 profiles and Scale 70, with unlimited scheduling. Note that its entry price is now $99 a month; older comparisons quote a cheaper plan that is no longer listed.

Pros

  • Widest network list
  • Reviews and inbox in the same tool
  • 14-day trial without a card

Cons

  • No longer cheap: starts at $99/mo
  • X is a paid add-on
  • More than a solo creator needs

5. Sprout Social

Best for: marketing teams that need a shared inbox, customer care and polished reportsPrice: Essentials $79 per seat/mo billed yearly ($99 monthly); Standard $199, Professional $299, Advanced $399 per seat (checked 2026-10-22)

Sprout Social is priced per seat, so a three-person team on Essentials pays $237 a month billed yearly for 5 profiles. In return you get the strongest shared inbox and reporting in this list, a 30-day free trial and AI credits per seat. Listening, premium analytics and influencer marketing are sold as separate add-ons through a demo, without public prices. Choose it if Later felt too creator-focused for a team.

Pros

  • Best inbox and reporting for teams
  • 30-day trial
  • Influencer marketing available as an add-on

Cons

  • Per-seat pricing gets expensive fast
  • Only 5 profiles on Essentials and Standard
  • Add-on prices are not public

6. Hootsuite

Best for: larger teams that want scheduling, listening and approvals under one contractPrice: Standard from $99, Professional from $199, Advanced up to $399 per user/mo, billed yearly (checked 2026-10-22)

Hootsuite's Standard plan covers up to 10 social accounts with unlimited posts, AI post and image generation, a unified inbox and brand and competitor monitoring; Professional removes the account limit and adds trend forecasting and custom reports. There is no free plan, and the 14-day trial caps daily posts and leaves out bulk scheduling. It is a reasonable choice for a team that has outgrown Later, but not a cheaper one.

Pros

  • Listening and monitoring included
  • Unlimited accounts from Professional
  • Mature approvals and governance

Cons

  • No free plan
  • Per-user pricing, billed yearly
  • Monthly-billed prices are not shown on the plans page

7. Nolyn

Best for: analysing any public TikTok, Instagram or YouTube account and finding micro-influencers, paid per taskPrice: Credits per task: a TikTok profile analysis uses 12–22 credits, a YouTube channel analysis 33–45; 100 free credits at sign-up; Pro $49/mo for 4,000 credits

Nolyn is not a Later replacement for scheduling: it does not publish posts, connect to your accounts or provide link in bio. It replaces two other things people use Later for. First, analytics on accounts you do not own: give it a competitor's or creator's TikTok, Instagram or YouTube handle and it reads their recent posts and returns median views, engagement rate per post, posting rhythm and the best and weakest posts. Later's analytics only cover the accounts you connect, and competitor benchmarking starts on its Scale plan. Second, influencer discovery: describe your product and market and Nolyn searches public creator data and returns a short, explained list. Because it reads public data, it cannot see reach, impressions or saves on Instagram the way a connected dashboard can.

Pros

  • Analyses any public account, not just yours
  • Influencer search without an annual contract
  • Each figure shows the posts behind it

Cons

  • Does not schedule or publish posts
  • Public metrics only: no reach or impressions
  • Influencer search returns a short list, not a database

8. Modash

Best for: brands that want to search and filter a large creator databasePrice: Essentials $199/mo, Performance $499/mo, Enterprise from $14,700/yr (checked 2026-10-22)

Modash says it covers more than 380 million Instagram, TikTok and YouTube creators with at least 1,000 followers, searchable by niche, location and audience. Essentials includes 2 seats, 300 opened profiles and 150 email unlocks a month and tracks 100 creators; Performance adds payments and affiliate management. The 14-day trial is small (20 profile views). It is the right replacement if you used Later's influencer side to search for creators rather than to run managed campaigns.

Pros

  • Very large searchable database
  • Audience data and emails
  • Shopify integration

Cons

  • $199/mo minimum
  • Profile and email unlocks are capped
  • Annual plans cannot be cancelled mid-term

9. GRIN

Best for: Shopify DTC brands running gifting and affiliate programmes with creatorsPrice: Free with a 20% wallet fee; Starter $200/mo + 10%; Growth $500/mo + 7%; Scale $1,500/mo + 5% (checked 2026-10-22)

GRIN now publishes its prices, which it did not do for most of its history. Every plan includes creator search, gifting, affiliate and UGC campaigns, a creator CRM and content tracking, plus a percentage fee on money you deposit to pay creators. The free plan allows 2 live campaigns and 10 gifts. It is closest to what Later sells after the Mavely acquisition: paying creators per sale rather than just finding them.

Pros

  • Public pricing and a free plan
  • Gifting, affiliates and payments in one place
  • Shopify and Stripe integrations

Cons

  • Wallet fees of 5–20% on top of the plan
  • The Starter trial bills automatically
  • Overkill if you only need a list of creators

What Later does today, and why people switch

Later's own pricing page on 2026-10-22 showed three plans, all billed yearly: Starter at $18.75 a month (1 social set of up to 8 profiles, 1 user, 30 posts per profile, 3 months of analytics), Growth at $37.50 (2 sets, 2 users, 180 posts per profile, 1 year of analytics) and Scale at $82.50 (6 sets, 4 users, unlimited posts, 2 years of analytics, competitor benchmarking and brand mentions). The page says yearly billing is 25% off, but it does not show the monthly-billed amounts. Every plan has a 14-day trial and link in bio; there is no free plan.

Later schedules to Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube and Snapchat. Its help centre says X support ended on August 28, 2025, including X analytics.

On the influencer side, Later bought Mavely, an affiliate creator network, in a $250 million deal announced on January 3, 2025. Later's influencer marketing page now offers full-service programmes and a self-serve platform, with pricing through a strategy call.

The usual reasons to look elsewhere follow from that: you need X; the Starter post cap is too low; you only want scheduling and pay for analytics you do not use; or you want analytics on competitors and creators, which Later only offers on Scale.

You may not need one tool for everything

Many small brands pay for an all-in-one plan and use one part of it. A cheaper set-up is to pick the job first:

  • Scheduling only: Buffer's free plan or Planoly Starter cover most solo creators.
  • Scheduling plus analytics of your own accounts: Metricool Starter, or Later Growth if you like its planner.
  • Analytics of competitors and creators: Metricool tracks competitors from its free plan; Nolyn analyses any public TikTok, Instagram or YouTube account per task.
  • Finding micro-influencers: Nolyn's influencer search for a short explained list, Modash for a searchable database, GRIN once you pay creators per sale.
