How do you download and search the comments of a YouTube video?

Read the video’s comment pages with likes, replies and dates, search them for your keyword, then copy the list as a table or CSV. In Nolyn’s October 21, 2026 run on a Vacuum Nerds robot vacuum video, 23 of 65 viewer comments asked which robot to buy and “Roborock” matched 3 comments.

What you get

Every comment with likes and dates

Up to 100 top-level comments, each with its likes, number of replies and date as YouTube shows it, sorted by likes, plus the video's views, likes and total comments.

Keyword matches

Every comment that mentions your keyword, a brand or a product, including plurals, misspellings and translations, most-liked first. Without a keyword you get the questions viewers ask.

Themes and a CSV you can keep

The comments grouped into themes with counts and the most-liked example, and the full list as a table and a CSV block to paste into Sheets or Excel.

Example: Vacuum Nerds' budget robot vacuum video, keyword “Roborock”

A real run on October 21, 2026 for “Stop Wasting Money On Expensive Robot Vacuums 2026” by Vacuum Nerds (31.6K subscribers), published May 31, 2026: 249,009 views, 1,343 likes and 155 comments. Nolyn read four comment pages: 67 top-level comments with 82 replies under them, 65 of the comments from viewers and 2 from the channel.

A third of the viewers asked what to buy

23 of 65 viewer comments ask for a recommendation, and most add a condition: carpet, wood floors, dog hair or a budget. The most-liked asks for “a robot that works the best on carpeted flooring” (14 likes); 12 comments mention the type of floor.

The most-liked comment is a defect report

With 31 likes, the top comment says a Mova P10 Ultra twice stopped controlling its water and left puddles, even after a warranty repair. 8 comments name Mova models: 4 report a defect, 3 are positive and 1 is a question. 9 comments in all are about reliability.

Viewers push back on price and features

14 comments are about price; the second most-liked (25 likes) says they will not pay “more than a couple hundred”. 6 do not want a mop or a camera at all, such as “Great to see no camera options!” (11 likes).

“Roborock” matched 3 comments, all asking if it is worth it

One asks how the Roborock QRevo Edge 2 Pro compares with the Saros 20, one asks for experience with the Roborock Edge 2 (3 likes) and one is surprised Roborock is now in the higher price range.

Every figure was recomputed from the video and comment responses saved from this run. Themes were counted with fixed keyword rules over the full comment texts. YouTube gives comment dates as relative text (24 of the 67 said “4 months ago”), so the export keeps them as shown. Quotes are shortened and shown without usernames.

Run it for your own product or account

How it works

  1. Read the video

Views, likes, total comments, title, channel and publish date.

  2. Read the comments

Page by page, up to 100 top-level comments, each with likes, replies and date.

  3. Find the keyword

Every comment that mentions it, including plurals, misspellings and translations, most-liked first.

  4. Group and export

Themes with counts and examples, then the full list as a table and a CSV block.

Who uses a YouTube comment exporter

Brands and sellers

Find every comment that names your product or a competitor on a review video, with the complaints and questions to answer in your listing or your next video.

Creators

Pull the questions viewers asked into a list for the next video or a pinned reply, sorted by likes.

Researchers and marketers

Get a video’s comments into a spreadsheet with likes and dates and count the themes, without copying them one by one.

What it cannot do

Nolyn reads the public comments YouTube returns for a video, top comments first: up to 100 top-level comments per run, with the number of replies under each but not the replies themselves. YouTube shows comment dates as relative text such as “4 months ago”. Videos with comments turned off, members-only comments, held-for-review comments and YouTube Studio data are not available. It reads one video per run.

Questions

How do I download YouTube comments?

YouTube has no download button for comments. Paste the video link into the form above: Nolyn reads up to 100 top-level comments with likes, replies and dates and ends the report with a table and a CSV block you can paste into Google Sheets or Excel.

Is there a free YouTube comment downloader?

Running it needs a free Nolyn account: sign in with Google and you get 100 free credits. The sample run on this page cost 39 credits and took under 3 minutes. This page, the sample and the brief are free to read.

How do I find a specific comment on a YouTube video?

YouTube has no search inside a video’s comments. Enter a word from the comment, a brand or a product as the keyword and Nolyn lists every comment that mentions it, most-liked first. In the sample, “Roborock” matched 3 of 67 comments.

Can I find my own old comments on YouTube?

Your own comment history is in your Google account under My Activity → Comments on YouTube. This tool works the other way round: it reads all the comments on one video and finds the ones that mention a word.

How many comments can it export?

Up to 100 top-level comments per run, with each comment’s reply count. The sample video showed 155 comments; its four comment pages held 67 top-level comments with 82 replies under them.

Is this a YouTube comment scraper?

It reads the public comments of one video you choose, as any viewer can see them, and analyzes up to 100. It does not collect channel or user data across videos, and usernames are not needed for the analysis.

What can a brand do with a video’s comments?

Find the questions to answer and the complaints to fix. In the sample, 23 of 65 viewers asked which robot vacuum to buy and the most-liked comment was a defect report about one of the recommended brands.

What is the difference from the YouTube video analyzer?

The video analyzer compares a video with the channel’s other videos and reads its transcript and top comments. The comment exporter is about the comments themselves: a keyword search, themes and the full list as a table and CSV.

Is there a free YouTube comment downloader?

You can start free: new accounts get 100 one-time credits, no card required. One analysis like this uses about 39 credits, so the free credits cover about 2 runs. Paid plans add monthly credits.

Do I need to sign up?

To run it, yes: sign in with Google. It is free and asks for no card. You can read the example and fill in the form before signing in.
