TikTok Creator Search Insights for sellers

See what people search on TikTok, and where content is missing.

Creator Search Insights lives inside the TikTok app. Nolyn brings the same data into a research report: searches by category, TikTok's content gap labels, recent trend points and the audience behind a search, next to TikTok Shop listings.

US view. Nolyn is not affiliated with TikTok.

What is Creator Search Insights?

Creator Search Insights is TikTok's tool for showing creators what people search for on TikTok. Each search has a popularity score, recent trend points and a count of related videos. TikTok labels some searches as content gaps: topics where it sees search interest that existing videos may not meet. The label is TikTok's, not Nolyn's judgement.

Why sellers use it

Find demand before it shows up in listings
Searches like a product name or a style can rise on TikTok before many listings or videos target them.
Brief creators with real search language
Use the exact words people type, plus the audience breakdown, when you write briefs for affiliates or your own videos.
Check the shop side in the same report
Ask Nolyn to look for matching TikTok Shop US listings, so a search idea is checked against what is already for sale.

Popularity is the source's relative score (0–100), not a search count. Trend shows the seven most recent points returned; the source does not state the interval.

Eight of the twenty searches were chosen editorially because they relate to products or product tutorials. Celebrity names, personal names and searches with unclear meaning were left out. This is not a ranking of the whole category.

Who searches “holy grail lash serum”

The detail request for the past 30 days splits popularity by gender, age and location. Shares below are of the total returned for each dimension.

Shares use the total the source returns for each dimension. Location lists the top five countries returned, so it does not add up to 100%. “Unknown” and “others” are shown as returned. Small shares rest on low counts and can change quickly.

How to read this snapshot

  • “holy grail lash serum” swings between 0 and 67 across the latest points. A volatile search needs a second look before you act on it.
  • “Nike Air Rifts” climbed from 74 to 90 in the latest points, with fewer than 1,000 related videos.
  • “butter nails” holds steady at around 70 but already has more than 6,000 related videos: steady interest, more videos competing for it.

From a search to a decision

  1. 1

    Pick a category

Start from a category filter such as Fashion, Food or Sports, and the content gap tab.

  2. 2

Check the trend and the audience

Separate steady searches from one-off spikes. Look at who is searching before you choose a product angle.

  3. 3

    Compare with TikTok Shop

See whether matching listings exist in TikTok Shop US, and how many related videos already compete.

  4. 4

    Write the brief

Turn the strongest searches into content or product ideas to test, with the exact search wording.

Limits

The list reflects what the source returns for a US view; it is not a full export of TikTok search. You browse searches by category and tab rather than looking up any keyword. Popularity is relative and is not search volume, sales or conversion. A content gap label does not mean people want to buy. Coverage and fields can change when TikTok changes the feature.

Questions

Is this an official TikTok tool?

No. Nolyn is not affiliated with TikTok. Nolyn reads Creator Search Insights data through its TikTok data source and shows where each number comes from.

Do I need a TikTok creator account?

No. Nolyn runs the lookups. You need a Nolyn account to run a task, and research uses credits.

Can I look up any keyword?

Not directly. Creator Search Insights is browsed by category and tab. For a specific keyword, Nolyn can review related TikTok videos and TikTok Shop listings instead.

Does popularity tell me search volume?

No. It is a relative score. Use it to compare searches and spot changes, not to estimate how many people searched.
