We read Amazon US Best Sellers in Candles on November 1, 2026 (the top 50) and sorted each product into a type. To see how much the scented ones sell and which scents lead, we add an Amazon "scented candle" search from October 24, 2026 whose listings show "bought in past month" badges, and a 1688 wholesale sample of the same week for the buy price. We also checked TikTok Shop US.
What are the best selling candles right now?
November 1, 2026 data from Amazon US Best Sellers in Candles (top 50): the best selling candles are branded scented jar candles in fall and holiday scents and bulk packs of unscented tea lights. The #1 is a 22 oz spiced pumpkin jar candle at $19.95; 23 of the top 50 are scented candles (median $19.95, 16 of them from established candle brands, 14 in fall or holiday scents), 10 are tea light packs and 6 are birthday candles. In an October 24 Amazon search, 10 of 48 scented candles showed "10K+ bought in past month".

How the data was collected
On November 1, 2026 at 14:19 UTC, Nolyn's data layer read page 1 (the top 50) of Amazon US Best Sellers › Home & Kitchen › Home Décor › Candles & Holders › Candles (49 with a price shown). Each product was put into a type by keyword rules on its title; "established candle brands" means the title names one of 13 candle brands we list in the build script. Scents are keyword matches on the titles of scented products. The "scented candle" search (48 listings, best-seller sort) was read on October 24, 2026; "bought in past month" badges are Amazon's rounded lower bounds ("10K+"). The 1688 sample (47 organic listings, first price tier) was read the same day and converted at the ECB rate of October 23. TikTok Shop US "candles" was searched on November 1, 2026.

Brands, margins and where a new candle fits

What a candle seller can take from this
If you want to sell candles on Amazon US, do not take on the big brands with a plain scented jar. The best sellers you can compete with are bulk unscented tea lights and tapers (a price-and-burn-time product), birthday candles, and scented candles with a clear gift angle: four-packs of seasonal scents, candles for men, occasion candles. Plan scents by season: fall scents sell from September to November and are replaced by holiday and winter scents in December. Candles are heavy and fragile to ship, and Amazon lists them as a fire-related product, so check the labeling (ASTM F2058 fire safety warnings) before you list.

"Bought in past month" badges come from a different day (October 24) and a search, not the best-seller list, and are rounded lower bounds. Candle warmers, wax melts, holders and air fresheners are not covered. Brand and scent counts are keyword matches on titles. The 1688 and Amazon price comparison is type-level, not the same candle. Nothing here is a sales estimate.
