How much are TikTok Shop fees per order in 2026?
TikTok Shop US charges a 6% referral fee (5% for fine jewelry and pre-owned) on what the buyer pays including shipping, minus tax, and no separate transaction fee. A $27 item with $5 buyer-paid shipping pays $1.92; sold through a creator on 15% commission it also pays $4.05, so you receive $26.03 before the label and product cost. Referral fee = 6% × (customer payment + platform discount − tax). Buyer-paid shipping is in the base, your own discount is not, and a TikTok-funded discount is added back.
Affiliate commission is charged on the item price excluding tax and minus your discount; shipping is not included. You pay it on top of the referral fee.
If the order is refunded, TikTok returns the referral fee minus a refund administration fee of 20% of it, capped at $5 per SKU.

TikTok Shop US fees the calculator uses
TikTok Shop's settlement report lists an order's fees as the referral fee, the refund administration fee and the affiliate commissions. The old transaction fee applied only to orders before April 3, 2023: since 2024 the referral fee covers every TikTok Shop fee except shipping and tax. The calculator adds the shipping you pay so the payout matches what lands in your account.

Why buyer-paid shipping raises your fee
The referral fee is charged on what the buyer pays, and that includes shipping. A $27 item with $5 shipping is charged on $32, so the fee is $1.92 rather than $1.62. The affiliate commission is not: it stays at 15% of $27, or $4.05.
That is the default example in the calculator. You receive $32 − $1.92 − $4.05 = $26.03 before the label, the same figure as the worked example in our TikTok Shop fees guide. With a $10 product cost and no label, the profit is $16.03, a 50.1% margin on what the buyer paid; the lowest item price for a 20% margin is $10.68.
Collectibles and pre-owned sales over $10,000
For collectibles and pre-owned items, the part of a sale over $10,000 pays 3%. A $12,000 trading card pays 6% of $10,000 plus 3% of $2,000, or $660; the same price in a pre-owned category pays $560.
How to calculate TikTok Shop fees
Start from what the buyer pays
Item price minus the discounts you fund, plus the shipping the buyer pays. Tax is left out.
Apply your category's referral rate
6% for most categories; 5% for fine jewelry and pre-owned; 3% on the part of a collectibles or pre-owned sale over $10,000.
Add the affiliate commission
On creator sales, your rate × (item price excluding tax − your discount). Shipping is not part of it.
Subtract shipping and product cost
Take off the label or FBT fee you pay, then the product cost and packaging, to get the profit per order.
Questions
What percentage does TikTok Shop take?
6% of what the buyer pays, including shipping and minus tax, in almost every US category; 5% for fine jewelry and pre-owned items. Creator sales also pay the affiliate commission you set, so a 15% rate brings the total to about 21% of the item price.
Is the TikTok Shop referral fee 8% now?
Not on TikTok Shop's official pages. On 2026-10-22 the US category page (dated 10/08/2026) still listed 6% for the main categories; the 8% figure appears only in third-party articles.
Does TikTok Shop charge a transaction or payment processing fee?
No. The transaction fee applied only to orders placed before April 3, 2023; since 2024 the referral fee covers all TikTok Shop fees except shipping and tax.
Is the affiliate commission charged on shipping?
No. The commission is calculated on the item price excluding tax and minus your discount. Only the referral fee includes buyer-paid shipping in its base.
What does a refund cost on TikTok Shop?
TikTok keeps 20% of the item's referral fee as a refund administration fee, capped at $5 per SKU, and you lose the shipping already paid. The affiliate commission comes back only if the refund happens before the creator is paid.
