Account
Sign-in with Google required to run it. You can read the example and fill in the form without an account.

Paste an Amazon product link or ASIN. Nolyn's Amazon Review Checker reads the star distribution and Amazon's top reviews and checks the patterns people look for when they suspect fake reviews: a hollow middle in the ratings, unverified buyers, bursts of reviews on the same days, repeated sentences and reviews for another variant. You get warning signs with their numbers, not a verdict.

How do you check if Amazon reviews are fake?

Check several signals together: the star distribution, the share of verified purchases, whether reviews cluster on the same days, repeated sentences and reviews for other variants. No outside tool can prove a review is fake. In Nolyn's October 18, 2026 sample, the TAGRY X08 earbuds (89,505 ratings, 4.4 stars) had 23% of ratings between 2 and 4 stars and 8 of 8 verified top reviews: normal signals.

What the review check shows

The shape of the ratings

The 5-star and 1-star shares and how much sits between 2 and 4 stars, from Amazon's distribution of all ratings.

Who wrote the top reviews, and when

How many top reviews are verified purchases or Vine reviews, how their dates spread, and whether several landed within days of each other.

Text and variant checks

Shared sentences, reviews for another color or product, mentions of free items, and the top reviews' average against the overall rating.

Example: TAGRY X08 wireless earbuds

A real run on October 18, 2026 for the TAGRY X08 earbuds (ASIN B09DT48V16), #3 in Earbud & In-Ear Headphones on amazon.com: 89,505 ratings averaging 4.4 stars, a $25.98 deal against a $35.99 list price, “10K+ bought in past month”. Amazon returned 8 top reviews from US buyers.

The 8 US top reviews on the product page, by date. Helpful = “people found this helpful”. Variant is the color bought; Amazon pools reviews across colors.

The ratings have a real middle

71% of the 89,505 ratings are 5 stars, 6% are 1 star and 23% sit between 2 and 4 stars. Complaints are visible: 32% of Amazon's fit mentions and 31% of connectivity mentions are negative. Signal: normal.

All 8 top reviews are verified, spread over three and a half years

None is a Vine review. Dates run from February 2023 to September 2026; three fall within 19 days in September 2026, worth a look but typical of Amazon showing recent reviews first. Signal: normal.

No shared sentences, but 3 reviews are for other colors

The longest wording two reviews share is seven everyday words (“I would recommend these to anyone looking”). 3 of 8 reviews were written for the Pink or Ocean Blue version. The top reviews average 4.63 stars against 4.4 overall.

The feature to check: noise cancellation

The specifications say noise control “None” (only call noise cancellation), yet 1,077 of Amazon's 2,329 noise-cancellation mentions are negative (46%), and one top review praises “great noise cancellation”. Read the 1-star reviews on fit, connectivity and the case before buying.

Every figure was recomputed from the saved Amazon responses of this run; the report itself said 2 of 8 reviews were for other colors, the data shows 3. Eight reviews is a small sample, and none of these checks proves or rules out fake reviews.

How the Amazon review checker works

  1. Read the listing

Price, star rating, number of ratings, Amazon's distribution of all ratings by star and its review aspect summary.

  2. Read the top reviews

Stars, date, verified-purchase and Vine labels, variant, helpful votes and text of the reviews on the product page.

  3. Check six signals

Rating shape, verified share, date clusters, repeated phrasing, other variants or free items, and top-review average against the overall rating.

  4. Mark and explain

Each signal is marked normal, worth a look or strong, followed by what to read before you buy.

Who uses the Amazon review checker

Shoppers before a purchase

Fakespot shut down in 2025. Check an unfamiliar brand's listing in a minute or two and know which reviews and features to read before you buy.

Sellers checking a competitor

See whether a rival's rating rests on verified reviews over years or on a recent burst, and which aspects its buyers complain about.

Brands auditing their own listing

See what shoppers see: reviews pooled from other variants, or a feature buyers expect that the listing does not claim.

Limits

Nolyn's Amazon Review Checker gives signals, not a verdict. It cannot see reviewer histories, removed reviews or gifts offered outside Amazon, so it cannot say a review is fake. Only the top reviews are read; the star distribution and aspect summary cover all ratings. One signal alone means “read more”, not “do not buy”. Sellers who want buyer praise and complaints should use the Amazon review analyzer.

Questions

What is an Amazon review checker?

A tool that looks for patterns linked to fake or unreliable reviews: few ratings in the middle of the star range, unverified reviewers, many reviews on the same days, repeated wording and reviews for a different product. Nolyn's Amazon Review Checker reports each pattern with its numbers.

How do you spot fake Amazon reviews?

Look at several signals together: almost nothing between 2 and 4 stars, few verified purchases, bursts of reviews within days, sentences repeated across reviews, and top reviews much more positive than the overall rating. Then read the 1-star reviews.

Does it tell me whether reviews are fake?

No. Amazon does not publish reviewer histories or removed reviews, so no outside tool can prove a review is fake. In the TAGRY example every signal was normal or worth a look, which is typical of a long-established listing.

What happened to Fakespot?

Fakespot, the review-grading service owned by Mozilla, shut down in July 2025. Nolyn does not give letter grades; it shows the underlying signals for one product so you can judge them yourself.

How many reviews does it read?

The top reviews on the product page, usually 8–13, plus the star distribution and aspect summary, which cover all ratings.

Is there a free Amazon review checker after Fakespot?

You can start free: new accounts get 100 one-time credits, no card required. One analysis like this uses about 12 credits, so the free credits cover about 8 runs. Paid plans add monthly credits.

Do I need to sign up?

To run it, yes: sign in with Google. It is free and asks for no card. You can read the example and fill in the form before signing in.
