· Nolyn research team

There is no single best resell site: the right one depends on what you sell, how much work you want per sale, and how much of the price the platform keeps. So this list puts the fee first. For every site we read the seller fee on the platform's own US pages and, where the rules allow, priced the same order on each: a $25 item with $5 shipping paid by the buyer, no sales tax. The figures use the same rules as our Depop, Mercari, Whatnot, Poshmark and Etsy fee calculators, and every row says when we checked it. Fees change often: since September 2026 alone, Whatnot moved to tiered commission, and OfferUp stopped shipping a year ago.

What are the best sites and apps to resell on?

On fees, for the same $25 item with $5 shipping (official US pages checked October 22–30, 2026): Depop $1.44, TikTok Shop $1.80, Mercari $3.00, Whatnot $3.17, Etsy $3.30, eBay $4.48, Poshmark $5.00 and Amazon $5.49. Vinted charges sellers nothing and OfferUp is now local-only and fee-free. Then pick by what you sell: clothes on Depop, Poshmark, Vinted or ThredUp; cards on Whatnot or eBay; designer menswear on Grailed; almost anything on eBay or Mercari.

How we checked

  • Seller fees, the base they are charged on (item only, item plus shipping, or including sales tax) and minimums were read on each platform's own US help, fee or pricing pages, mostly on 2026-10-30; the TikTok Shop and Amazon rows are from October 22 and 28. Where a page did not state something, we say so instead of quoting third-party figures.
  • "Same $25 sale" is a $25 item with $5 shipping paid by the buyer and no sales tax, at the standard rate for a new seller: no ads, boosts or volume discounts. Where a platform's rules make that order impossible (OfferUp no longer ships) or its fee base is not stated clearly enough to compute (Grailed's processing, StockX's minimum), we show the rule instead of a number.
  • We did not sell on these platforms for this page, so descriptions of what sells there are taken from each platform's own pages, not from sales data.
  • Left out: Facebook Marketplace (its fee article is not available from our location, so we could not read the fee on an official page), The RealReal and Swappa (their fee pages are behind a bot check) and Kidizen (its domain is parked).
  • Nolyn is included for one job only, checking what a product sells for new on Amazon US and TikTok Shop US before you buy it to resell. It is not a resell site and is not ranked against them.

The resell sites and apps, one by one

1. Depop

Best for: the lowest fee on secondhand and vintage clothesPrice: No selling fee for US sellers; 3.3% + $0.45 payment processing; 12% boosting fee if you boost (checked 2026-10-30)

Depop dropped its selling fee for sellers in the US, the UK and Australia, so the only charge on a normal sale is payment processing: 3.3% + $0.45 on the item, the shipping and any tax. On the $30 order that is $1.44, the lowest of the sites we could price. If you boost a listing, Depop adds 12% of the item price when it sells through the boost, $3.00 on a $25 item. Buyers pay Depop's separate Marketplace fee of up to 5% + $1. Depop's Help Centre also says eBay is acquiring Depop and the brand stays separate.

Pros

  • $1.44 on the $30 order, the lowest here
  • No selling fee, just processing
  • Boosting is optional and paid only on boosted sales

Cons

  • 12% more on boosted sales
  • Processing is charged on shipping and tax too
  • Mostly fashion

2. TikTok Shop

Best for: new products that sell through short videos, and pre-owned items at 5%Price: 6% referral fee on the customer payment including shipping; 5% for pre-owned (checked 2026-10-22)

TikTok Shop charges US sellers a referral fee on what the customer pays, including shipping: 6% for most categories, $1.80 on the $30 order, and 5% for pre-owned goods and fine jewelry. Affiliate creators who sell your product take a commission on top, which you set. It suits resellers of new, low-priced products that demonstrate well on video; check what already sells in our [TikTok Shop best sellers](/case-studies/tiktok-shop-best-sellers) data.

Pros

  • $1.80 on the $30 order
  • 5% for pre-owned
  • Videos and creators bring buyers

Cons

  • Creator commission on top
  • Needs video content to sell
  • Mostly new products

3. Mercari

Best for: general secondhand items when the buyer pays shippingPrice: Flat 10% of the item and buyer-paid shipping; no processing fee; buyers pay 3.6% Buyer Protection (checked 2026-10-30)

Mercari charges one fee, 10% of the completed item price plus any shipping the buyer pays, and no payment processing fee. On the $30 order that is $3.00. You buy the label, either from the shipping the buyer paid or out of your own pocket if you offer free shipping. Payouts by ACH are free; Instant Pay costs $3. Mercari takes less than Poshmark at every price when the buyer pays shipping; see [Poshmark vs Mercari](/compare/poshmark-vs-mercari) for where Poshmark's prepaid label wins.

Pros

  • One flat 10% fee, no processing
  • $3.00 on the $30 order
  • Free ACH payouts

Cons

  • You pay for the label
  • 10% also applies to buyer-paid shipping
  • Buyers pay 3.6% more at checkout

4. Whatnot

Best for: trading cards, collectibles and fashion sold in live showsPrice: 8% commission on the item price under $15,000 of sales in a 4-week period (Coins 4%), plus 2.9% + $0.30 processing (checked 2026-10-30)

Whatnot is a live-shopping app: you run shows, buyers bid or buy in real time, and Whatnot sends a prepaid label. Since September 21, 2026 commission depends on your sales in the last four-week period and the category: 8% for most categories to start, falling to between 4% and 6.5% from $500,000, and 4% for coins. Commission skips shipping and tax, but 2.9% + $0.30 processing applies to all of it: $3.17 on the $30 order. Compare it with eBay in [Whatnot vs eBay](/compare/whatnot-vs-ebay).

Pros

  • $3.17 on the $30 order
  • Auctions or Buy It Now in live shows
  • Rates fall with volume

Cons

  • Most sales need you live on camera
  • $0.30 per order hurts cheap items
  • Narrower categories than eBay

5. Etsy

Best for: vintage and handmade goodsPrice: $0.20 per listing, 6.5% transaction fee, 3% + $0.25 processing; Offsite Ads 15% or 12% when they bring the sale (checked 2026-10-30)

Etsy only allows handmade goods, vintage items and craft supplies, so resellers use it for vintage. You pay $0.20 to list, 6.5% of the item and shipping, and 3% + $0.25 processing on the total including tax: $3.30 on the $30 order. When a buyer arrives through Etsy's Offsite Ads, 15% more is charged (12% once a shop passes $10,000 a year), capped at $100 an order.

Pros

  • $3.30 on the $30 order
  • Buyers search Etsy for vintage
  • No monthly plan

Cons

  • Only handmade, vintage and craft supplies
  • $0.20 per listing and renewal
  • Offsite Ads can add 15%

6. eBay

Best for: almost anything, and listings that sell without youPrice: 13.6% of the total incl. shipping and tax + $0.40 per order for most categories; trading cards 13.25%; athletic shoes 8% from $150 (checked 2026-10-30)

eBay is the widest resale marketplace in the US, with fixed-price listings and auctions in every category. The final value fee is a share of everything the buyer pays, including shipping and sales tax: 13.6% for most categories plus $0.40 per order, $4.48 on the $30 order. Payment processing is included. Some categories differ: trading cards pay 13.25%, and athletic shoes of $150 or more pay 8% with no per-order fee. The first 250 listings a month are free.

Pros

  • Every category, auctions and fixed price
  • Listings sell around the clock
  • 8% on sneakers from $150

Cons

  • $4.48 on the $30 order
  • Fee includes shipping and sales tax
  • Extra fees for below-standard accounts

7. Poshmark

Best for: clothes under about $50 when you want the buyer to pay the labelPrice: Free to list; $2.95 under $15, 20% from $15; buyer pays $6.49 for the label (checked 2026-10-30)

Poshmark has the simplest fee and the highest percentage: $2.95 on sales under $15 and 20% from $15, so $5.00 on a $25 item. In exchange the buyer pays a flat $6.49 for a prepaid label covering up to 5 lb, so postage never comes out of your sale. If you would otherwise offer free shipping on Mercari, Poshmark leaves you more below $50.

Pros

  • Buyer pays the $6.49 label
  • Free to list
  • Flat label up to 5 lb

Cons

  • 20% from $15
  • $2.95 is 29.5% of a $10 sale
  • A $15.00 sale leaves less than $14.99

8. Amazon

Best for: reselling new products in volume (retail arbitrage, wholesale)Price: 15% referral fee for most categories ($0.30 minimum) + $0.99 per item on Individual, or $39.99 a month on Professional (checked 2026-10-28)

Amazon is where resellers of new products go for volume: retail arbitrage, online arbitrage and wholesale. The referral fee is 15% for most categories on the item plus delivery, $4.50 on the $30 order, plus $0.99 per item on the Individual plan ($5.49 in all); the Professional plan replaces the $0.99 with $39.99 a month. Fulfillment by Amazon fees are on top. Before you buy stock, check demand: our [products to resell](/case-studies/products-to-resell/2026-10) list ranks 47 product types under $25 by Amazon's "bought in past month" figures.

Pros

  • The largest pool of buyers for new products
  • FBA handles storage and shipping
  • Professional plan drops the $0.99 per item

Cons

  • $5.49 on the $30 order on Individual
  • FBA and storage fees on top
  • Category and brand approvals

9. Grailed

Best for: designer, streetwear and classic menswearPrice: 6% under $120 ($1.99 minimum), 9% from $120, plus 3.49% + $0.49 US processing (checked 2026-10-30)

Grailed changed its commission for sales from May 20, 2026: 6% under $120, with a $1.99 minimum, and 9% at $120 and above. Commission is charged on the listing price plus the shipping you charge, unless you use a Grailed Label. Payment processing is separate: 3.49% + $0.49 for US payments once you are set up with Stripe. Its own categories are luxury designers, streetwear drops, high-end classic menswear and womenswear, and mass-market and vintage.

Pros

  • 6% under $120
  • Buyers looking for designer and streetwear
  • Grailed Label keeps shipping out of the commission

Cons

  • $1.99 minimum commission
  • 3.49% + $0.49 processing on top
  • Narrow focus

10. StockX

Best for: items you want verified before the buyer gets themPrice: 9% transaction fee at Seller Level 1, down to 7% at Level 5, plus 3% processing; US minimum $5.00 (checked 2026-10-30)

StockX runs a Verified Marketplace: you ship the item to StockX, it checks it, then sends it to the buyer. Sellers pay a transaction fee by Seller Level, 9% at Level 1 down to 7% at Level 5 (800 sales or $100,000 a quarter), plus 3% payment processing, with a $5.00 minimum in the US. That minimum makes cheap items expensive, so StockX suits higher-priced pieces.

Pros

  • Buyers trust verified items
  • Rates fall with volume
  • Clear fee table by Seller Level

Cons

  • $5.00 minimum fee
  • 12% in all at Level 1
  • You ship to StockX first

11. ThredUp

Best for: clearing out clothes without listing them yourselfPrice: Consignment: 3% of a $5 sale up to 80% of a $200 sale; Standard service fee shown as $0.00 (from $14.99), Premium $34.99 (checked 2026-10-30)

ThredUp is consignment, not a marketplace: you send a bag of clothes, ThredUp photographs, prices and sells them, and you get a share of each sale that grows with the price, 3% of a $5 sale, 15% of $20, 30% of $50, 60% of $100 and 80% of $200. The service fee is taken from earnings after items sell; the Standard fee was shown as $0.00, struck through from $14.99, on the day we checked. ThredUp takes women's and kids' clothes, handbags, shoes and accessories, not men's clothing.

Pros

  • No photos, listings or shipping per item
  • Good for bulk clear-outs
  • Share rises to 80% on expensive items

Cons

  • 3% of a $5 sale, 15% of $20
  • ThredUp sets the price
  • No men's clothing

12. Vinted

Best for: selling clothes with no seller feePrice: No fees for selling; optional paid Bumps (checked 2026-10-30)

Vinted's US help page says there are no fees for selling and you can list as many items as you like; paid Bumps to promote a listing are optional. We did not check what buyers pay. Its catalog covers women's, men's and kids' clothing, designer, home, electronics, books and media, and hobbies and collectibles. Withdrawals go to a US bank account in dollars.

Pros

  • No seller fee
  • Unlimited free listings
  • Clothing for women, men and kids

Cons

  • Paid Bumps for visibility
  • Buyer charges not checked here
  • Mostly clothing

13. OfferUp

Best for: bulky items sold locally, fee-freePrice: No fees on in-person sales; 200 free listings a month, lower in some categories (checked 2026-10-30)

OfferUp stopped shipping: new listings became local-only on September 23, 2025, and shipping was removed from existing listings on October 21, 2025. What remains is a US-only local marketplace with no fees or commission on in-person sales, 200 free listings a month (fewer in some categories, such as 15 for appliances and phones) and paid promotions. Any blog quoting an OfferUp shipping fee is out of date.

Pros

  • No fees on local sales
  • Good for furniture, appliances and tools
  • US-only, local buyers nearby

Cons

  • No shipping at all
  • Local buyers only
  • Listing limits in some categories

14. Nolyn

Best for: checking what a product sells for new before you buy it to resellPrice: Credits per task; 100 free credits at sign-up; Plus $19/mo for 1,500 credits, Pro $49/mo for 4,000

Nolyn is not a resell site and has no data from Depop, Mercari, Whatnot, eBay, Poshmark or the others here: it cannot show sold listings or resale prices. It reads live Amazon US and TikTok Shop US listings, so you can check the new price and demand before you buy stock to flip. Our October 2026 [products to resell](/case-studies/products-to-resell/2026-10) list is built that way: 510 Amazon US listings under $25, with meat thermometers (median $9.99, 228,000+ bought in the past month) at the top.

Pros

  • Real Amazon US and TikTok Shop US prices and demand
  • Pay per task
  • Works for any product you name

Cons

  • No resale-platform data
  • Not a place to sell
  • Research per question

Which resell site for which item

Fees matter less than buyers: an item sells faster, and for more, where people already look for it. These are the matches each platform's own pages point to, with the fee on the same $25 sale where we could compute it.

Why the same 10% is not the same everywhere

A fee's base matters as much as its rate. Whatnot's commission is on the item price only; Mercari's 10% includes the shipping the buyer pays; eBay's 13.6% includes shipping and sales tax. So on the $30 order eBay charges 13.6% of $30, not of $25. Fixed parts matter on cheap items: Depop's $0.45, Whatnot's $0.30 and eBay's $0.40 are small on a $100 sale and large on a $5 one, and Poshmark's flat $2.95 is 29.5% of a $10 sale.

Who pays for shipping changes what you keep too. On Poshmark the buyer pays $6.49 for the label; on Mercari, eBay and Depop you buy the label from what the buyer paid. Work out your own sale in the Depop, Mercari, Whatnot, Poshmark or Etsy fee calculators, and check your margin with the markup calculator.
