Two signals show what is trending rather than what has sold for years: products in a top 50 with fewer than 1,000 ratings (new listings selling fast enough to rank), and the pet listings with the most units sold on TikTok Shop US in October. Food, treats, flea and tick and health products are left out because they are regulated or brand-owned.

Remote dog training collars rank #1 in Amazon's Dog Training best sellers at $35.99 with only 798 ratings and have 90,310 units sold on one TikTok Shop listing (from $41.99); automatic and interactive cat toys fill 20 of Amazon's Cat Toys top 50 at a median $9.99, and a $12.99 teaser toy has 86,216 sold on TikTok Shop; pet water fountains take 17 spots in Amazon's feeding lists at a median $19.99. The Amazon lists were read through Nolyn's data layer for this page; the TikTok Shop data comes from the searches behind our TikTok Shop best sellers and consumer trends pages. The question below runs the same kind of check for one product type.
How the data was collected
On October 27, 2026, between 16:56 and 16:59 UTC, Nolyn's data layer read page 1 (50 products) of 10 Amazon US Best Sellers lists under Pet Supplies: Dogs › Toys, Grooming, Feeding & Watering Supplies, Beds & Furniture, Collars, Harnesses & Leashes, Training & Behavior Aids; Cats › Toys, Litter & Housebreaking, Beds & Furniture, Feeding & Watering Supplies. That is 500 slots and 477 distinct products (23 appear on two lists and are counted once, at their better rank). Each product was put into a type by keyword rules on its title (5 did not match any type). "New" means fewer than 1,000 ratings while ranking in a top 50. The TikTok Shop table uses the US "pet supplies" searches of October 20 (30 listings) and October 25 (29 listings), 56 distinct listings.

40 of the 477 products rank in a top 50 with fewer than 1,000 ratings. A product with few ratings can only rank that high by selling a lot right now, so this is the closest public signal to "trending" on Amazon. None of them are in Dog Toys or Dog Grooming, where the median product has 19,275 and 14,132 ratings: those shelves belong to long-running listings.
The new arrivals cluster in four places: dog training devices (a remote collar at #1, three bark deterrents), cat toys that move or make sounds, cordless and filter-free water fountains at $40.49–$58.58, and cat scratchers and couch protectors.

The pet listings with the most units sold on TikTok Shop US are higher-priced gadgets than Amazon's best sellers: a self-cleaning litter box (155,599 units, from $169.99), a remote training collar (90,310, from $41.99), a large dog water fountain (20,978 at $119.99). They are products that show what they do in a short video.
Training collars, bark deterrents, interactive cat toys and water fountains sell in volume on TikTok Shop and also have new listings climbing Amazon's lists, which is why they lead the answer above. Self-cleaning litter boxes are the exception: big on TikTok Shop, but Amazon's Litter & Housebreaking top 50 is almost all bagged litter.

For a seller, a $10 product leaves little after Amazon's 15% referral fee and fulfillment; the 58 gadget products in these lists (training and bark devices, automatic toys, fountains and feeders) sell at medians of $9.99 to $35.99 and, except the cat toys, leave more room per order.

The #1 product in Amazon's Dog Training & Behavior Aids best sellers on October 27, 2026 was a 4,500 ft remote training collar at $35.99 with 798 ratings; on TikTok Shop US a similar rechargeable collar has 90,310 units sold.
Cat water fountains are moving to cordless
Amazon's dog and cat feeding top 50s hold 17 fountains (median $19.99) and 12 packs of replacement filters; the three fountains still under 1,000 ratings are cordless, wireless-pump or filter-free models priced $40.49–$58.58.
Dog toys and grooming are closed shelves

What a pet seller can take from this

Amazon best-seller lists rank products by recent sales but do not show sales numbers, and we read only page 1 (the top 50) of 10 subcategories on one day; food, treats, flea and tick, health supplies, small animals, birds, fish and reptiles are not covered. Ratings are a rough proxy for a listing's age. Product types come from keyword rules on titles and are our grouping. The TikTok Shop data is two searches for one phrase, units sold are lifetime counts, and the two days returned different listings, so we cannot measure growth there. Prices are list prices at collection, not what each buyer paid. Nothing here is a sales estimate.

Built from the saved responses of 10 Amazon US best-seller lookups and two TikTok Shop US searches by Nolyn's team account (scripts and figures in our research folder), not from report text; every figure was recomputed by script. Products are described by type, without brand or shop names. The lookups for this page cost 41 credits; one extra TikTok Shop search on October 27 returned unrelated listings and is not used.
